I Won't Make A Sound... I Can Endure It...
You once told me...
I was like a bird in a cage.
You once told me...
I was like a butterfly in a case.
Those words I understood not,
As naive I was.
Those words I heed not,
As you said no more.
Than you told me...
The bird once sang beautifully.
And you told me...
The butterfly once flew freely.
Those words I too understood not,
As they brought me no meaning.
Those words I too heed not,
But than they brought me truth.
You held me in,
You chained me down.
You were my cage,
You were my case.
Those word you once used,
Were sweet and gentle.
But now those words,
Lashes at me like deadly whips.
But I won't make a sound,
I shall grit my teeth,
I can endure it.
