You're Welcome

You're welcome
for making you everything you are
A shining star
I built you from the dust and dirt
Added some love, glitter, and beauty
I carried your troubles
so no one could see
Lifted your burdens
so you could weigh less
I raised you from my shadow
and threw you into fame

You're high with my power
Drunk with stolen infamy
You pity the drip
Heighten your nose
with false dignity
But you steal glances
every change you get
Using me as your step ladder
I've been hoisting you on my shoulders
Elevating you higher than the top

You're still a bore and now a liar
Your ego is the size of the world
But it's filled with false testimony
Remember your ranking
You're ready for a fall
Because you're standing on my steps
But they'll crumble away
And then you'll know
None of this mattered anyway
