“Daddy where is she?”
“Where is who?”
“Where is Momma?”
“Daddy, when’s Mommy coming back?”
“Daddy, why did she leave?”
“Mommy needed a vacation darling”
“Daddy, why did she break the dishes before she left… it scared me”
He looks away, as tears fall from her eye
Eight years later
Studying with her friends
She heard screaming from the halls
“What the heck is wrong with you, You know this is all your fault”
“Don’t you ever wonder why I choose this… children in Africa choose to eat dirt, we just don’t let them eat it”
“Mom please, my friends are here… can you go talk somewhere else?”
She raises her hand to strike, but stops abruptly
A tear runs down the girls face, as she quickly turns and wipes a smile on
for her friends.
“Mom….? “
“ He treats me like I’m a dog, and your brother agrees?!? They think I do nothing… Oh look a sink full of dishes to clean!”
“Mom I can…”
She jumps
Tinkle Tinkle
“Mom where are you…”
Hysterics, rhythmic breathing loses its timing…
She’s gone again.
“Why did she leave me?
I always turned to her,
Always trusted her
Why did she forsake me?!
“Mom I know its hard… But I need you…Please..."
"Come home”
Shattered, broken
Wilting, she falls to the floor
