This Isn't Me

While I sit in the seat.
Quiet
Awake
While I hear the constant snores of the little ones.
As I see my parents fighting
I cry
As the tears flow down my face
I can hear them say,
“don't wake the kids”
So I sit there trying not to act like I'm awake
Watching the stars in the sky glow
Trying to stop the tears,
trying...
and I ask myself
what is going to happen?
what will be the next step in my life...
The next day I wake up in my bed
Ready to hear the news from last night
I hear the words come from my mothers mouth
“Kids we need to talk...”
