The sign says "do not touch"
I stop myself just in time
inside I want to disobey so much
it's nothing but impulse.

The speed limit is fifty
my foot twitches.
I know the ticket would be hefty
it's nothing but impulse.

The class is boring and long
my pen starts to wander
is not paying attention really that wrong?
it's nothing but impulse.

There stands a long-haired guy
he wears flannel and Birkenstock's
I want to say hi
it's nothing but impulse.

The impulse of my human ways
to run until the body breaks
This impulse consents with reckless things

It's nothing but impulse
I'm nothing but impulse
