It's hard to breath
Without him here
It's even harder to breath
Knowing he's gone forever

Everywhere I seem to go
It's memories of him I see
They used to make me feel blessed
Now they attack every part of me

The question I ask
Is the pain worth this fall?
Is it better to have loved and lost
Or to have never loved at all?

I'm happy that I met him
I gave him the best life he could have had
I know memories are worth the pain
Yet I still feel so sad.

I want to see him happy
I want to get lost in his fur
I want him to feel love again
But I know he's gone forever

I held him his first minute
And I held him his last
His life was still worth it
Even though it happened so fast

The author's comments:
My pet goat died in my arms at two AM on February 20, 2010. I bottle raised him and I loved him more then anyone could. His life was short but happy and sweet.

This is really nice. I loved it, it reminded me of a dog i used to have. I had him for four years and just like that he was gone, but i never even got to say goodbye.
