Condemnation for Her Heart

She stands and stares at her reflection
She sees the gaping holes left behind
She cannot believe the chasms that have become her being
These clefts ache with such emptiness
They croon with such sorrow
A destitute region of her body that is condemned
Fated to never be whole again.
