Failing Hope

February 16, 2010
By , Medford, NY
A petal slowly
Falls to the ground.
Than another,
And another.
Like raindrops
In April.
Snow in winter.
A chill sweeps
Over me,
A tear trickles
Down my face.
“oh my God”
I whisper.
This is such a disgrace.
Voice chocked up,
I can hardly breathe,
Hardly talk,
And hardly think.
My minds swimming
In an empty wasteland
Of failing hope.
But memories,
Sweet memories,
Floods into me,
Like a waterfall,
Into a dried up lake.
Today is my boyfriends wake.
