the past

as the sun rises in the east
and sets in the west
i find myself thinking
why does every day have to end?
why cant time freeze?
i remember when
we would sit on the grass
without a care in the world
i remember when
i would cry
and you would hold me
but now your gone
and i dont know what to do
in know you would want me to go on
with my life so
as the birds sing in the morning
and the crickets chirp in the night
i say farewell to the past
and welcome the future
