say hello to the trash can
I don't need you anymore

with the mask in mascara
you lengthened my eyelashes times four

but I learned something about you
and this is why I say,
the beauty you provided
on that sleek black brush,
that nasty crap you call
"daring definition"
that beauty does not stay

if only girls could see past
the lies we're often sold
and care about inner beauty that lasts,
then maybe, their mascara too,
would now be sitting in the trash
