We were a jigsaw of perfection.
Everything just fell into place – a jigsaw of perfection.
Like the whole universe was working collectively to bring us together.
Every word spoken, every breath taken - was meant for us.
We never saw it coming,
but before we’d even realised our lives were well and truly entwined;
Honey suckle. A wild rose, violently touched with intricate buds.
I know I made you angry,
and I know I seemed to move on,
but how can you have done just that..? for real?
When I am still left so behind.
All on my own.
Only one half left to the one heart we created.
And now if I see your face,
I will act untouched, un-scratched, unbruised.
I will appear to have forgotten, to have never loved.
A convincing façade.
You will appear to have never known me.
I’m sure you know it will have the effect you intended.
You know it will hurt.
And so on we go with our lives.
The clock continues to tick,
Clouds continue to glide,
and I know we will both learn to love again,
but will it ever fit together the way it did with you and I?
