Dessert Hallucinations

Water,
water,
someone pleads.
His clothes ripped.
His skin burned.
His lips bleeding.
He crawls along the dessert sand,
barley breathing.
Then a vast lake does he see.
Of which he wants to drink deeply,
but as he goes to take a sip,
all he gets is sand.

desert as in sand and hot and dry land is spelled w/ one s
dessert with 2 s's is like ice cream or cake
