I tried so hard to write a happy poem this time
One of how my life was full of rainbows and laughter
But that would be a lie if I told you everything was okay
The truth is I can taste the salty water on my chapped lips
My breath is rigged and heavy
I’m praying in my head that by the time you find the skeleton key
My now red face will be pail again
That my human-made-rain will be gone
And that my blood will be forever stained into the blue carpet
One of how my life was full of rainbows and laughter
But that would be a lie if I told you everything was okay
The truth is I can taste the salty water on my chapped lips
My breath is rigged and heavy
I’m praying in my head that by the time you find the skeleton key
My now red face will be pail again
That my human-made-rain will be gone
And that my blood will be forever stained into the blue carpet
