Out of the Darkness
I'm surrounded by darkness
so dense I cannot see
but through the black
i hear a faint whisper
a calm voice calling to me
the voice is so clear
i know He must be near
"Take heart my child,
I have overcome.
Have hope little one,
there is better to come."
the more He speaks,
the closer He sounds
"draw near to me darling,
I want to help you.
reach for me daughter,
I will carry you through."
as the voice becomes clearer,
I can tell who it is.
"lay your burdens at the cross
where your punishment was payed.
I have taken the blame
and you have been saved."
when i saw the glowing cross,
I ran to it and prayed
then God picked me up
He carried me through
out of the darkness
and the skies turned to blue.
