Slow Destruction
Is my despair your happiness?
Does your joy have to bring me pain?
Your arms embraced my heart with love
 The warm feeling of hope
 but you have gone astray
 You walked in my life
 but walked back out
 leaving me in the dark
I am haunted by your memory
Your eyes once a beautiful art gallery
now just filled with rows of glass
 was I never good enough
 to be called yours?
 you filled my heart
 with tenderness and care
but destroyed it with a blink of an eye
I'm left with nothing but sadness
 tears surround me
 overwhelming me
 flooding me with anger
 hurt
and the strongest form of unhappiness
I wonder what I did to deserve this?
is this what they mean by love is a battlefield?
Too bad I left my armor behind
 and I was deeply wounded
and blinded by this called love
 or maybe I wasn't
I was just too caught up to see
 the signs
 of a slow destruction.
