I Didn't Know
I didn’t know who you were, but you caught my eye.
With the first words you said to me,
You took me away.
Your lies had me blind and I could never see
The pieces of me you were slowly taking
For your own selfish needs.
So naïve, just a little girl,
You tricked me so easily.
I didn’t know I was unhappy until the day I woke,
And found myself laden with scars,
You didn’t know how they got where they are.
But this time I knew.
So skinny, just a helpless little girl.
I didn’t know what was happening until the morning I woke
In the hospital.
Needles in my veins, tubes up my nose.
I will never be the same.
You’ll never know.
