For Greg
No one asked him if he wanted this disease,
To endure the pain,
To watch his own body betray him.
No one asked him to leave his family,
To give up on his dreams too soon
To fight hard till the bitter end
But he did.
No one asked him to be a stronger leader,
To be a fighter,
To be passionate about life.
But he was.
And no one asked him to enter our lives and
Give a part of himself to everyone he met.
But he did.
Yet here we are….
Filled with grief,
Tears in our eyes
And sorrow in our hearts
For him.
