If I said you will die today
what do you think that you would say?
Would you be mad or sad of glad or lie
and say you’re perfectly ready to die
For death is the great judge of
how we live our lives
Are you ready to meet your maker
or scared as hell to die?
Can you say you’ve lived your life
Fully, and without regret?
I doubt it, in fact I would bet
quite the opposite; that you have let
The Precious Gift given to you
by God; called LIFE
slip right on through
Your fingers, leaving you
nothing but an empty shell.
Scared as hell to hear death’s bell
Toll, when you will say
“If only I could live
But one more day…

I was just hanging out by myself one day when the first couple lines popped in my head and I just sat down and wrote a poem at a picnic table on a piece of paper I found in my car.
