Breakdown of a Breakup

The earth shudders a sigh of relief
As I’m finally through with you
All this has been beyond belief
I hope you get all that’s due

The sun has risen to see another day
In which I am utterly alone
I yearn to hear you just on time say
That you wouldn’t rather break a heart than a bone

The moon closes on this glorious time
When I have figured out what is right
I spent all my life looking for a sign

Of when to tell the perfect one goodbye and goodnight

I bid you farewell the last time we met
Sure that it’s this feeling I’m sticking to
Next time we meet, you can certainly bet
That I won’t give a damn about you
