It was stupid
To think I could ever mean something
To someone like you
That I could change you?
No one can change you
No one can hold you down
And now you fly
Freely from me
From anything that might make you feel
For what?
What is the price of leaving?
The price of leaving is my death
I could never love you
The way someone else could
And I couldn’t touch you
Or hold you in my arms as lovers do
You wouldn’t care
You wouldn’t feel
And so I stay
I am yours
I am dying
Again.
