Depression
Eye's that once sparked with life
Now stare from troubled depths
A laugh so often heard
Now seldom fills the air
A young carefree spirit
Lies crushed beneath the stone
They carry a heavy burden
On small, delicate shoulders
Those who have seen it
Rejoice in the sun's rise
For darkness brings back
The long and painful nights
Motion, so still, agonizing
Yet everything a blur
Time enters a new dimension
That's neither here nor there
After they've seen it, they change
They can never view death the same
As each day starts anew
They are haunted by nightmares
Trapped inside themselves
To see, to think, to cry
The way of human life
