Dim Hallway

Walking through the dim hallway
Past their expressionless faces and feigned smiles
Through blackened hearts and eyes without sparkles
Unremarkably motionless
Like a black and white photograph

Through their insufferable lies
And tainted truths
Through a painful past
And uninviting future
Like a conversation with a magic crystal ball

Through a cruel and intangible aura
And souls of lost hope
Through their cries of despair
And worn faith
As I am walking through a dim hallway
