This Generation

To this generation I would say
Do not sacrifice your ideals or beliefs
They are the essence of you
As you give those up
You give up the moral fabric of your being
Which weakness you and makes you vulnerable
The predators of this generation linger
For this weakness present in many they penetrate your mind like a parasite
Slowly working outward
Those once optimistic filled with dismay
Contemplating drastic action
Actions in which would have been considered before
I was one of them
But, now the only group I belong to
Is the dead
