Floating

It is placed upon a pedestal above me
I stand and stare at my feet below me
My feet, which are growing heavier and heavier.
I Struggle to breathe, but I cannot swim
Keeping my head above water is a challenge alone.
If they can do it, I can rise above.
I will glide across the water
I will crawl up the walls till I soar above the roof.
The pedestal has become a mere step on my pathway to greatness.
I have found a way.
The path is clear and I’m staying on it.
Its illuminated beneath my heels.
