I feel him near me.
His breath lightly on my skin.
The adrenaline begins to rush.
Silence fills the space between us.
I concentrate wholly on something in the distance.
“Riley?”
My name rolls off his lips.
A chill rolls up my spine.
I turn to face him.
I look deep into his sea blue eyes.
I see his masked questions roll in like tidal waves.
I blush and look away.
In my mind, I see myself turn back to him…
Throw my arms around him…
Pull him to me and kiss him like there’s no tomorrow.
I snap back…
He’s standing by my side.
“Riley?”
My name rolls of his lips again…
He smiles…
“You coming with me or not?”
I face him; I blush…
“Yeah, I’m coming.”
I shake the impulsive thought from my mind.
I grab my coat.
I brush through the door past his warmth.
I stop against him…
