Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time,
I had a best friend,
Someone who loved me,
Someone who cared
About ME, who I was,
Not my outside.

Once upon a time,
I had someone to tell my secrets,
Someone who gave the best advice.
Who was happy with me when I was laughed,
Who suffered with me when I cried.

Once upon a time.

That was a different time.
Now that best friend is no more.
She doesn’t care about who I AM,
What’s inside of me.
She just cares about herself.

Once upon a time,
I had a best friend.
Now she’s not my best friend,
She is not a friend at all.
She broke my heart,
Stomped it to the ground.
She betrayed me,
Brought me in to a false world.
The world she lives in now.
Do you know what it’s called?

Anorexia.

I really like this poem. It's so real and true. I've been on the other side of this - been the person that has disappointed my friends for an eating disorder. It's not an easy lifestyle. I hope that you're able to bring some help to your friend and to understand how much she must be suffering. Look at some of my writing - it might make you understand a little bit more.
Anyway, God bless, and I hope everything works out.
