Waiting in an Empty Cell

The four iron walls inch closer and closer
Binding me to my small narrow bed
My head spins as the oxygen slowly creeps into my lungs
Ding, Ding, Ding, already twelve
The ceiling is black from previous hands
The walls are disguised in vile words and hateful lies
Everything I see is coated with parallel bars
Reluctant wishes are made on the walls
How did I get here?
Some would call it destiny, others fate
All summed up to one word... the future
To me, it was all just an empty page in a notebook... with a date
The date merely gave you a glimpse
But I've learned that once you take a peek at the next entry, it has already changed
In name, figure, and shape
In disguise
After a glimpse, some people scurry to change it, only to find themselves in another situation
Those who sought didn't bring their own fate
It was destiny who found them

That's why I'm waiting...
