Fish Living in Dreamland
I spoke to someone wise the other day.
He told me that I should drop you.
Drop you cold turkey, like some kind of twisted drug,
Like some kind of bad habit.

I can't discern why it bothered me.
I always thought it was like that.
After all, I'd been saying the same thing myself,
For quite a large chunk of time.

But when he spoke of wisdom and choice…
My heart wouldn't listen at all.
Its eyes were too busy concentrating on you,
Swimming in a sea of dreams.
