My Lord my God
please hear me tonight
as I pray one last time.
I've fought in this war
for way too long.

I lost a bit of my soul
everytime I pulled that trigger.
I want to go home now
so please let me go.

Forgive me Father
for taking the lives of other men
and forgive the man that took mine..

Don't let my family cry
for I died today with honor
help them get through this time
after I leave.

Lord I hear my twenty one guns today
when they fire that last shot
please let it be the last ever heard.

I fought my battle and now
it's time for me to go.
Let me rest under this white cross.
Let me join my brothers and sisters
that went before me into this light.

Let me find my peace.
Please God let my spirit sleep.
Thank you Lord.

Amen.
