I was enjoying a beautiful day,
When my dad got a call.
My grandpa was going in for heart surgery.
I was scared, but he made it through.
Then three days later
He was back in the hospital with
An infection.
He went into a deep and peaceful coma,
But unfortunately he never woke up.
I got a call at school,
That’s when I found out my grandpa was gone!
The tears kept on rolling down, down, down
For all eternity.

I guess he is in a better place
No war, nothing but silence.
Better place, what is a better place?
He will not be sad, no pain, no suffering.
That makes it a little better
For me, no more tears pour
For I know he is in a better place
