The mist and haze
Conceal the ways
That lead me to my love.
The stars amaze
As the harpist plays
To soothe my love’s poor heart.
The willow weeps
The platform creeks
The on my love stand upon.
From her eye a tear will leak
I pray the Lord her soul to keep
May Heaven’s gate welcome my love.
I arrived a moment too late
Her life falsehood did take
O, my love!
Bound she stand against the stake
One more life the flames did accumulate
The life of my beautiful love!
