Like a hungry tiger
Stalking his prey
I watch him from a distance

He can see me
I can see him
But from here I pose no threat

In a sudden flash
Of wild movement
The area erupts with activity

I see him
Through the chaos
And spring into action

I make my way
Around obstacles
And find my path to the target

As I approach
He knows he is done for
But he makes a desperate attempt
To escape

When we finally come into contact
He squirms to free himself
From my grip
But he is taken down

The game is over

I wrote this piece for a creative writing class. I am a football player and this poem is an alternate perspective poem that compares a stalking tiger to a defensive football player making a tackle
