The crisp autumn air
Adds to the excitement and smiles
I look into your mysterious brown eyes
And see a glimmer of competition and fun

So we run past the boulder-like pumpkins
And paint-splattered gourds
Through the numerous rows of beaten cornstalks
The sun scattering rays of previous memories
Down upon us

The secretive feeling of everlasting delight
Runs through my veins like blood
An unstoppable smile
Smeared from ear to ear

We’re both out of breath
When we reach our long awaited destination
I grab your hands and spin us
Faster and faster
My rainbow striped scarf
Flaps in my face
Our hands slip apart
And we fall to the ground
Still breathless from laughter

After a short game of tag
The leaves fall like rain
Scattering the remembrance
Of us
Together again
Finally
