You hide I count
We run through the
Thick dense forest
Trees passing us as we run
I count to 70
I come to find you
The leaves crunch underneath me
I look up trees under logs
In caves but there’s no you
I make a bed
With the leaves I find
I stay there hoping you will
Come out but you don’t
I hear wolves howl
I scream “WHERE ARE YOU?”
But I know you won’t come out
