More Than Written Words

We are like books
We are made and shaped by our authors
We are sold and shipped
We are read and ripped
We mend and we decay

We carry our own story
And make memories on our journey
We don’t have just written words on us
But also a story of everyone who touches our pages

We learn about all our owners
They read us when they are joyous, angered, and sorrowful
We live our lives telling people our story
Forcing them to discover themselves
Each one of us has our own impact on the world
And a story to tell

We are stored in a lonely drawer
Where we slowly decay and finally die
We are forgotten but our stories never will be
