Numbness
Upon my rooftop i sit,
tonight unlike any night i've known
There is something missing tonight,
but eveything around me seems to be in order
All the stars in the sky looking down
in their perfect little way,
the crickets singing,
the wind blowing,
my heart beating.
My heart beats for the one who is not here,
i feel numb,
i cant feel the warmness of his breath against my face as he leans in to kiss me,
i cant feel his arms wrapped around me holding me close as if he never wants to let go.
Yet he is not here,
my heart still beats,
just for him
