A New Day
I was caught, between a realm of repose, and a world of apprehension
It was then time for the precious golden orb to fall
It was then time for the shadows to triumph over the luminosity.
I was powerless and could do nothing but ponder;
Ponder about where today’s clouds would be tomorrow,
Ponder about what the winds were now squabbling about.
It was facile enough for me contemplate on these trivial matters;
They kept me away from brooding over the happenings of the day,
for songs of the light only added to my remorse.
I had been absorbed in the sphere of wealth;
not concerned with the outside occurrences,
until i lost the game, and lost all naiveté.
Now, night was befalling us,
But this night that i used to associate with evils and fears, trepidations and sin,
now brought new excitement, mystique, and wonder.
The forest of the reticent creatures by day, were all but divine by night;
The laws of this new world were the ones i longed to abide to,
The laws that let seemingly insignificant insects set the sky ablaze.
The nightly anthem was naught but a benevolent lullaby,
Its song was of endearment, composed by the glowing satellite above,
All I yearned for was for time to halt, but i was still powerless;
The orb returned, but now with a sanguine frame of mind,
Life had signification again to me;
Life was once more something deserving my admiration.
