I Am My Opponent
It’s her team’s turn to serve.
The blue and green colors move,
As she does.
She serves the ball,
It fly’s through the air,
Smacking into her opponent.
The ball shanks off her opponent’s hands,
Hitting the ground with a
Bang…
And a…
Swoosh.
She serves again,
As fast as lightning it moves towards her,
She braces herself for the ball to come.
Position…
Collision…
Pain wailing up inside.
She looks at her arms,
The color of blood turning to blue.
As she moves with the ball her colors do too,
Red and black.
She is on the other side.
