Why must we stand and watch?
Staring at the sky above
As birds fly past
The dream of flight rushing through our mind
Wishing we could just get up and fly away from the troubles of life
Praying for the freedom of flight
Why must we be stuck down on the ground while the birds can fly
It doesn’t seem fair
That some can fly while others are stuck on the ground
Wondering why, why we must just stand and watch
Like a fan in the stands while the birds enjoy the gift of flight.
