There was nothing there but a child’s fantasizing mind
Reeling through thoughts of a better place
In a world that had no sorrow.
Sea winds laughed as they dances over green waves around him
And there was peace in the boy.

Growth and life were everywhere with a happiness that he could only remember
In the memories of the past,
And the sanctuary of a strong and mighty forest
That protected and mystified him.
And there was peace in the boy.

These pleasant memories faded as the lights went out over the quiet town
Where a blind boy sat in an empty room.
The strings of the cello softly vibrated under his bow
And through the sound of music came a peace that filled him.
But there was nothing there but a child’s fantasizing mind.
