Sometimes I forget I have a window
That lets the sunlight flood in
For although the electric light burns bright
It eventually dies, like my emotions

Sometimes I forget about the door
That lets the breeze flow through the house
For although the air conditioner blows steadily
It gets too cold, like my thoughts

And I become trapped
Only because I barricaded myself in.
