I hate people I don’t know –
even if others say they’re nice

I hate calling back when asked –
but I really don’t want to talk

I love the things you hate—
I fake interest in what you love

I hate agreeing with my parents to make them happy –
but I do it anyway

I hate the way he treats you—
but because I love you and you love him, I’ll accept it

I hate that you probably think this is about you—
because you always think everything’s about you,
