Assess yourself; make a fair trial.
When you’re around me, do I frown, or smile?
Count the tears you’ve wiped away.
Recite every prayer you pray.

You tell yourself you’ve done no wrong-
But you won’t cry when I’m gone.

Wonder what you’ve dodged or done.
Did you embrace me, or just get up and run?
Realize that you’ve affected me.
Notice that I hid away when you set me free.

You tell yourself you’ve done no wrong-
But you won’t cry when I’m gone.
