Dawn.
There's a warm and wet towel
 wrapped around my brain

 at 7AM.
I don't want to do this...
The cats and dogs that rest beside me
 are weighing me down.
Eventually, my feet are shuffling on carpet,
and I'm gobbling up the morning's tasks.

I fall asleep at the wheel

 at 7AM.
 He's waiting for me...
 at the other end of
 a trail of wasted gasoline.
 So,
the A/C blasts at 30 degrees Farenheit
to keep my eyes on the road.

 We roll past phantoms

 at 7AM.
 I swear...
 those trees over there...
 For a moment they were
 a pair of adolecents
bundled in black against the morning air,
 passing narcotics back and forth
 in a well-disguised handshake.
And I wouldn't be surprised, considering
 the characters that hang around

 at 7AM.
