When I grow up I want to be,
A sailor on the briny sea,
On a magnificent galleon careless and free,
Poseidon’s vast ocean at my decree,
Someday I’ll sail the briny sea

When I grow up I want to be,
The writer of a trilogy,
About the lonely misfits three,
From challenges they will not flee,
Someday I’ll write a trilogy

When I grow up I want to be,
A dinosaur from which creatures flee,
I’ll eat little dinos that challenge me,
Roam the jungles wild and free,
Someday a dinosaur I’ll be

I will not grow up, I want to be,
One of Never land’s lost boys with my own fairy,
I’ll play with Indians and pirates and live in a tree,
I’ll run amuck on land, sky, and sea,
Someday I’ll be a lost boy with my own fairy
