Burnt Tongue

Frozen popsicles
so cold
they stick
and burn your tongue
Ice cubes
so cubicle
and cold
they scorch your tongue
Chilly fall air
you breathe it in
and it stings your tongue.
Hot cocoa and falling snowflakes
the 2nd to cool the fire
but all it does
is intensify it
You say you love me
and i say it back
my tongue burns
with the lie
i can't take back
