Everything Changes
Cold iron train tracks
Like the one we used to walk down
Skipping like idiots
Chasing the summer away
What I though of our friends back then
Was all wrong
I couldn't see their motives
If they were framed in neon lights
Though my impression of you
Was always quite clear
We were like twins
Same melancholy demeanor
We could never hide
Unless we were alone
I still remember those nights
Talking on the phone
Hiding like stowaways
As to not wake anyone up
We tried to find answers
To questions no one seemed to care about
We never got very far
And usually talked about Spiderman and music
Then somewhere along the line
Life knocked us
You always struggled more than I did
I hope you know
That I never wanted to see you where you are now
But you morphed into another person
Sometimes I wonder if I made you up
