Favorite Quote:
"The world turns and the world spins, the tide runs in and the tide runs out, and there is nothing in the world more beautiful and more wonderful in all its evolved forms than two souls who look at each other straight on."
— Gary D. Schmidt (Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy)

Here lies yesterday,
still serene and beautiful
but gone from us all too quickly
in the furious rage toward the calendar’s end,
the hour hand’s overzealous race to victory.
Beyond us and behind us where we cannot turn,
stands the patron of all knowledge,
grand advisor to the pursuit of happiness,
and the binder of most heavy chains.
Haunting my thoughts in constant
he brings me security by what has been,
vaulting me forward to his evil stepbrother,
tomorrow.
The gap stretches wide
as the undertaken drifts from here,
said and done he floats away on memories.
The amnesia will soon set in
while we forget the things he taught us
under a different name, successor to the present.
My life rests on his shoulders,
so much weight for so short a span,
pushing him down and farther.
He will not rise from his deep cavern
but will press on forever;
time moving gallantly through time.
