That One Day
Her life was like a river running downhill.
She dreaded waking up in the morning for school.
Lonely lunches,
friendless years,
heartless parents,
mocking students,
all a part of her life.
Then, there was that one day.
Running to her class,
avoiding tauting,
she dropped her folders.
Papers flew like feathers,
drifting down slowly.
Frantically, she began picking them up.
A hand appeared,
a hand that helped.
She looked up to see the smiling face of a boy,
a boy she had her eye on for years.
He smiled and said
"Let me help you with that."
That one day changed a life.
That one day brought love and happiness,
to a girl who had never felt it.
That one day changed a life.
