Meet Reality
You put me on the back burner
Your explanations only mask the truth.
I have met reality: and it taught me this -
The world is turning
it will not stop for this, for me
and like this spinning globe, you turn the dial and set the remanence
of me in your mind aflame.
The combustion spreads inside of me -
it overcomes.
Yes, my feelings may be stereotypical
and yes, I may be a statistic,
but that in no way justifies the burning pain.
So with that flame
and all its destruction,
I turn merely to smoke and drift away.
From you
into that spinning world
that turns day by day
not once stopping to help me cope with the pain.
Rain - are my tears
Stain - on my heart
Gaining memories that haunt me
Slain - is my heart, hope, and yours.
This is permanent.
I have met reality.
